About the image 

Last year Alex spent 10 days on a ship-based expedition in Svalbard. During the summer months there is 24 hour daylight, making it perfect for photography as opportunities can come at any time. During this particular night spent anchored to the sea ice, the crew were on lookout for a polar bear seen in the area the day before.10 minutes after Alex captured this image, a polar bear was spotted crossing the sea ice.
